Hello.

Maybe I read The Little Prince one too many times as a kid, which has led to a slight obsession with teeny tiny planets as an adult. Maybe.

I cannot take all the credit for these images. The initial landscapes are created by artists in the virtual world of Second Life. You can log in and wander through them, as though you were exploring someone’s dream.

To create the artwork here, I visit their lands and shoot photos of them, same as you might do in real life. The photos are then stitched into a panoramic image, which is then projected stereographically and then tweaked until I think it looks nice.

Each image takes me anywhere from three to ten hours to create, depending on how complex it is to shoot, stitch and touch up at the seams. But the landscapes themselves are often the result of weeks of work by the artists that made them.

These would not be possible without them, and so to those artists, I say thanks. You make our virtual worlds a better place to be.

Cheers,
Thaumata
